High Priestess Nyra — Elemental Flame

Doctor Boon opened the door. Nyra walks through it carrying fire.

The Nyra Elemental Flame Deck is now live on Kickstarter — the second faction of Book One: The Last Ember to reach physical print, and the first deck that asks you to play in a completely different rhythm from Boon's tempo-and-traps engine. If you've only seen Nyra in the online prototype, the short version is this: she doesn't race you. She outlasts you, then burns you down in a single convergent turn.

Here's why that matters — and why the deck is worth your backing.

What the Nyra deck actually is

  • High Priestess Nyra — Elemental Flame faction. T3 · S4 · R2 · M5. Starting Shield 20, starting Energy 6.
  • Ability — Luminous Convergence. The first two Mystic cards you play each turn draw you a card or restore 10 Shield. Two-turn cooldown.
  • 40 cards in the deck — Allies, Actions, and Traps, all tuned around two mechanical identities: Friends (shield-recovery synergy) and Inky (card draw and enemy disruption through Action chaining).

Where Boon wins by controlling your options, Nyra wins by widening her own. Every card in the deck is wired to one of two engines — shield-recovery or inky-draw — and your job is to decide each turn which engine you're tuning, and when to pivot from survival to finisher.

The finisher is real

Look at Apex of Duality — cost 7, deals 60 damage and restores 45 Shield in a single play. Or Prismflare Convergence, which boosts your next Action by 40% off Nyra's Skill stat. Or Choir of the Flamebound, which turns every Action you've played this turn into stacked Shield.

Nyra is the first deck in the game where the math rewards you for patience. Stall, stack, survive — then collapse the game in two turns.

What you get by backing

Three pledge tiers, kept deliberately simple:

  • $5 — Cosmic Supporter. Digital. You get the lore package, early access to prototype updates, and a backer credit. If you just want to support the project, this is the tier.
  • $25 — Nyra Starter Deck (Digital). A full deck PDF of all 40 Nyra cards in print quality — designed so you can print-and-play at home if shipping doesn't make sense for you.
  • $39 — Nyra Physical Deck. The printed 40-card deck, shipped worldwide. Same cards that went through Monte Carlo balance validation, same cards I'm running on the production print line right now.

No stretch goals I can't deliver. No "coming soon" art. Every card in the deck is finalised, illustrated, and ready.

Why this matters for Book One

Book One is locked. Six heroes, 240 cards, no further mechanical changes. What happens from here is getting the decks into physical form, one faction at a time. Doctor Boon is already printed and in hand. Nyra is next. Virelia is queued behind her.

Every backer moves the printing timeline forward for the next deck too. If you've been watching the project from the sidelines — this is the stage where it stops being a prototype and starts being a game you can put on your table.

If Kickstarter isn't your thing, the Stripe store is still open and ships internationally too — but the campaign is where the momentum happens.

Light a candle. Back the Flame.
